The Laurentian area, only a one and a half hour drive from Montreal and equally convenient from many points in the north east, has been a magnet for tourism going as far back as the early 1940s. The original village of Mont Tremblant is about thirteen kilometres from the newer Mont Tremblant Resort and decided more laid back. The resort area's pedestrian village, unique in Eastern Canada, houses restaurants, pubs and shopping boutiques all easily reached without the hassle of finding or paying for parking...no cars allowed.

As of 2005 Ski Magazine has named the resort the number one ski destination in Eastern North America for eight consecutive years. Summer guests can enjoy scenic golf courses, a variety of lakes and plenty of space to hike, bike and check out the local wildlife. The top of the Mont Tremblant ("trembling mountain" in French) has a chalet and restaurant, Le Grand Manitou. Open year round, one can dine and enjoy some of the most breathtaking views on the planet.
